There is a reason why Madrid is called “the city that never sleeps”. If it is already great fun to hang out during the day, ant night is it no different, especially on the days before weekends and public holidays. In Spain, dinner time is late so nightlife doesn’t start until around 11 pm. An, of course, if it starts late, it ends late. It is usual to see people wandering around until late hours (4, 5, 6 am) and, NO, they are not going to work or coming home from work.
The “gatos” (cats) as the Madrileños are known locally don’t stick to one place. They go from bar to bar, disco to disco, until they have it for the night. But it is all in the name of having a good time!!!
